The Niscience Grounds: A Step into the Light

Updated: Aug 19

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

-- St. John 8:12

It might seem odd choice that the Niscience Foundation and sanctuary grounds are across the street from a major shopping mall and economic engine. This close proximity is no accident if you look at the cycles.

The Chapel of the Jesus Ethic opened its doors in 1966 to serve the spiritual needs of those dedicated to mediation and spiritual mastery under the Niscience Archetype. Ten years later, in 1976, the Glendale Galleria opened its doors as a major shopping center. Jonathan Murro terms a ten year cycle, a Holy Ghost Cycle.

Each Ten (10) Year Cycle on the Path of Virtue is a Holy Ghost Cycle. Holy Ghost Cycles begin the moment a sincere aspirant dedicates his life and being to the service of God. For the pure in heart, Holy Ghost Cycles lead to the whole armour of Holy Ghost Insulation. Holy Ghost Insulation is a Mantle of Holiness and Protection placed by the Christ upon those who prove to be trustworthy guardians or stewards of the mysteries of God. (Jonathan Murro, The Path of Virtue)

In 1983, the Galleria underwent an expansion bridging Central Avenue and extending to Brand Avenue. Currently, the galleria has about 1.6 million square feet of retail space, making it the third largest shopping mall in Los Angeles County. According to Wikipedia, since 2002, the Glendale Galleria has consistently ranked as one of the highest-grossing shopping centers in the United States.

In 1994, Niscience was prospered through the opening of the new Agape Hall building, which was built debt-free as a beautiful testimony to the principle of Owe No Man. The new Agape Hall building was completed 28 years or four seven-year cycles from the Chapel's construction.

Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. (St. Paul, Romans 13:8)

In 2008, the Americana at Brand was opened, adjacent to the Glendale Galleria. According to its website, the Americana is "one of the 15 most-productive and highest grossing retail centers in the world." The Americana was opened two seven-year cycles from the opening of the new Niscience Agape Hall building or six seven-year cycles from the establishment of the Chapel of the Jesus Ethic. There definitely seems to be something going on in the coinciding of cycles. From Jonathan:

Every Seven-Year Cycle releases significant Inheritances of Grace to be used while serving God as an Initiate under Christ. (Jonathan Murro, Galaxy Gate 2)

The founders of Niscience found fertile soil in Glendale and planted the seeds so that the Niscience ministry could flourish. The shopping industry likewise found fertile soil in Glendale and grew and prospered with time. This close proximity is symbolic of life in general. No matter how busy or complex our outer life is, we can pause and step into the light to be refreshed and restored.

How we symbolically step into the light will be different for each person. It could be a momentary pause to reflect on the goodness and blessings in one's life. It could be taking the time to do a one minute mindfulness breathing exercise as can be found on smart watches. It could be stretching to work out the stress in one’s body. It could be taking the time to pray or meditate. Or perhaps it could be looking at the world with a renewed sense of wonder and awe.

Regardless of what stepping into the light means to us individually, stepping into the light is a choice we make. When we step into the light, the light shines through us and in us, and we become one with the light. The light of the Christ is certain, and when we stand in the light, we are certain that today is a blessed day and we look forward to a hopeful tomorrow.

I shall step into the golden inner Light, and learn of transforming grace. (Ann Ree Colton)
